1. Upcoming & Recent Events:

The second tour of historical sights in Athens will be taking place this Saturday, May 6th. Join Mentors Tobin and Epoclaen at the Halade Gate in the SW quad at 2pm EST where they will recount the amazing history of Fedmire and Sasebo! Learn of the Perfect Rose and how the power of love saved these two from the dreadful caves below his tent. We will be leading the group to the caves for a tour of its dangers, so be prepared for the mystery and the danger!

Design that creature you have always wanted to face in mortal combat! Entries should include a description, three personality actions, and three possible special attacks. The Mentors will be accepting entries for creature designs on May 5th from 5pm to 6pm EST, and 15th and 16th, from 2pm to 3pm EST in the Hero's Welcome (DIR Peiraic Gate, then go bar.) Ask a Mentor for alternate ways of sending in entries if necessary. Check in- game NEWS for details and rules.

Congratulations to the winners of the latest game of Nikos Sez. It was a grueling battle between good and evil, but in the end, a good time was had by all!

1st Place: Orvic
2nd Place: Melodone
3rd Place: Terotites

2. General News:

"Oh, that was close… He took my boots! They cost me fifty dinars!"
- Joxer

Don't be a Joxer! Register your valuables! Registrar's offices have opened in the Hall of Eunomia in the Southwest quadrant Council House as well as in the Council House in the Northeast quadrant of Athens. Be sure to register those important keepsakes to make it easier for us to try to replace them in case they are lost!

"That's Narcoleptis dust. I recommend JUST a pinch for a good night's sleep."
- Hercules

Alchemists around the known world rejoiced as they were taken aside and taught the intricacies of transferring those awkward bottles of sleeping powder into sleek and easy to use wands! And as if this wasn't enough, they can now transfer sleep poison into another type of wand for even better results! Be sure to keep an eye out lest you be caught by the hordes of newly trained sandmen roaming our fair city.

"It sounds like the Centaurs have been asking for it."
- Gabrielle

Yes, you heard it here first! A shipment has been spotted by our man about town, full of fashionable accessories for the centaur in battle! New and improved barding, as well as those hard to get, specially made leg guards were spotted. When asked we were told that yes, you can wear those guards on your front AND rear legs! Check with your favorite local Centaur Armory soon.

3. The Grapevine

"Of course, Zeus is king! Why are you asking these idiotic questions?!"
- The Sovereign

Rumors have been spreading about the death of some of our favorite gods, and we're here to tell you that they are NOT true! Those that heard the news from Dionysus, shame on you for believing the blatherings of a mad man — er, god! Zeus is fine, Hera is — well, she's Hera, and all the others are expecting to live long and happy lives making you mortals miserable and causing their own brand of suffering.

"… his voice was a little gravelly, but I understood."
- Gabrielle

As you may or may not have noticed, a crop of boulders has been popping up with conspicuous messages scrawled upon them all over the known world! What can it mean? Who put them there? Why is part of the message missing? Only time can tell.

"Well, good day to you, sir. Oh, that's a fine-looking apple. I'm going mad, you know. Loopy. Strange in the head."
- Autolycus

Murdock and Augeas and Norticles, Oh My! The insane trio is loose on Athens, and while Augeas was thought to be cured and hasn't shown up for quite a while, word has it that he's up to his old tricks again. Watch out for flying pies and lightning bolts — er, I mean rocks!

"Uh — time to lose the doom and gloom and find a happy place, hagsters."
- Aphrodite

Strange goings-ons have been noticed near the Grandfather Oak in the Kithaeron forest just outside of Thebes. Loud shrieks and strange exotic bird-calls ring through the forest and the pounding of ceremonial drums can be heard faintly in the distance when the wind is just right. Keep your eyes peeled, they are coming soon.
